Who:  T.A.S.T.E.S. benefit for stroke awareness is being organized by Ryan C. Cox, who lost her mother Linda C. Cox to stroke. An attorney for the state of Florida, Ryan is a native of Tallahassee and a graduate of the Florida State University School of Law.

What:  The First Annual Taking A Stand To End Stroke - T.A.S.T.E.S. Benefit - A wine, beer, and cheese tasting to raise awareness of stoke in Tallahassee. All proceeds will be donated to the National Stroke Association.

When:  Sunday May 22, 2011 - 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Where:  The Governance House -
502 North Adams Street Tallahassee, Florida 32301.

Why:  In the United States, stroke is a leading cause of death, killing over 133,000 people each year, and a leading cause of serious, long-term adult disability. In the spirit of Stroke Awareness Month (May), T.A.S.T.E.S. is an opportunity to educate the community about stroke and stroke prevention while raising funds for the National Stroke Association.
